Hamburg based artist Sebastian Artmann started creating mixed media sculptures and dioramas in 2012. He uses a broad variety of materials to tell morbidly charming stories, in which the weird
characters of his mind come alive. The artist's fantasy world encounters universal questions of human-kind, and combines them with mythology and animal anatomy often influenced by Japanese art
and pop culture.
The artist's aesthetic ambition is to explore the edge between appealing and repulsive composition. Beyond artistic ambitions, each artwork’s soul is an open call for freedom, belief in life and
responsible action towards universal values like humility, respect and tolerance.
If not working on his personal art projects, Sebastian Artmann is a freelance artist assisting prop makers, exhibition & set designers, make-up & SFX artists, continuously involved
in construction workshops for popular theater plays, museums, movie projects and musical productions as well as trade fair construction and carpentry.
All skills and techniques of his work are self-taught and tools for the artist's eager goal:
